About Rettay Chiropractic
Dr. Mikkelson is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was an accomplished athlete at Colerain High School and attended Miami University (Ohio) on a wrestling scholarship. After receiving his undergraduate degree he attended Life University in Marietta Georgia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He originally joined Rettay Chiropractic in 1997 and has also practiced in Fairfield, Ohio. In 2009, he relocated Rettay Chiropractic to its current location on SR 18 next to Healthy Alternatives Food Store.
Dr. Mikkelson is a firm believer in the idea that lifestyle and the daily decisions we make determine our health, productivity, and happiness. He advocates exercise, proper nutrition, stress reduction, and other forms of preventative care. He sees chiropractic care as more effective, less invasive, and a faster way to treat many conditions involving the neck, back, and entire nervous system.
Lawrence Mikkelson is married to Jackie Rettay Mikkelson and they have two children, Danielle and Andrew. Dr. Mikkelson is very active in his community outside of his practice. He is a wrestling coach at Ryle High School in Union, Kentucky. He is also on the medical advisory committee and on the board of overseers at the Redwood Rehabilitation Center. He serves as the District V director for the Kentucky Board of Chiropractors and secretary for the Southwest Ohio Wrestling Coaches Association. In 2006, he retired from the military with 23 years of active and reserve service. In his free time, he enjoys golf, exercise, and family activities.
